Headed by the Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Mr. Philipp Gady, an Austrian business delegation accompanied Foreign Minister Schallenberg to Hanoi from 16-18 April 2023. During the visit, economic and geo-economic topics were discussed with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment, and the Hanoi People's Committee.
ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Ho Chi Minh City, together with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other supporting partners, organized a bilateral cooperation forum on infrastructure supplies, mobility, smart technologies and disaster prevention. This event offered presentations of Austria's areas of strength as well as dozens of exclusive business meetings between Austrian companies and stakeholders from Vietnam's public and private sectors. Considering the investment projects in Vietnam, the mentioned sectors are currently very promising for Austrian suppliers. 130 guests took the opportunity to interact with the numerous Austrian companies represented. In addition, several contracts on the development of hydroelectric energy infrastructure and financing were signed in the context of the forum.
On 19 April 2023, the business delegation traveled on to Ho Chi Minh City to establish business and government connections in Vietnam's southern business hub.
