As part of the “Study in Austria” economic mission, held from 6 to 8 May 2026, six renowned Austrian higher education institutions presented their study programmes in Shkodra and Tirana. The initiative aimed to inform and inspire students locally while opening up international perspectives for their academic and professional development.
At the core of the visit were information sessions and interactive formats, enabling prospective students to engage directly with representatives of Austrian institutions. Attendees gained valuable first-hand insights into degree programmes and admission requirements, supporting them in making well-informed educational choices.
Key stops included the Austrian School “Peter Mahringer” – HTL for Information Technology in Shkodra, as well as the Harry Fultz Institute in Tirana. These engagements provided excellent opportunities to connect with young talents and further strengthen academic exchange and institutional cooperation between the two countries.
The agenda also featured a networking evening in Tirana, organised in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy, bringing together representatives from the education sector, the Austrian business community, and Albanian partner organisations. The event offered a valuable platform for dialogue, cooperation, and the development of sustainable partnerships.
The delegation comprised leading Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences, including Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, FH JOANNEUM – University of Applied Sciences, MCI - Entrepreneurial University of Applied Sciences, Technical University of Leoben, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences.
The initiative was part of go-international, a joint programme of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. It highlighted Austria’s strong appeal as a destination for higher education while emphasising the importance of international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and creating opportunities for young talents in Albania.
