Austrian companies have a long-standing tradition in supplying railway infrastructure and maintenance machines to Vietnam Railways Corporation, and turnouts made in Austria are also being used in the metro projects in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Ho Chi Minh City organized this trade mission in order to facilitate Austrian supplies to the railway sector in Vietnam.
The group met with relevant stakeholders, such as Ministry of Transport, Vietnam Railway Authority, Vietnam Railways Corporation and the Metropolitan Management Authorities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The Austrian suppliers also got the chance to see the underground Opera station and examine the tracks of the not-yet operational first metro line in Ho Chi Minh City.
