Austria-Vietnam Future Mobility Symposium

Attended by top-class speakers in science and technology from Vietnam and Austria and 130 local business, government and academic visitors, the Austria-Vietnam Future Mobility Symposium took place in Hanoi on 15 June 2022. It was presided by the Vice Minister for Transport, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dong, and the Austrian Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Hans-Peter Glanzer.

Topics discussed in the workshop included a future vision of climate-friendly mobility, the importance of electromobility, the challenges for urban traffic in Vietnam, the life cycle costs of rail infrastructure and new types of mobility. The symposium was attended by more than 130 business people, government and academic stakeholders as well as by representatives of the Austrian trade mission on railway technologies concurrently organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Ho Chi Minh City.

The symposium was organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy Hanoi, the Ministry of Transport, the City of Hanoi and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The event took place within the scope of ReFocus Austria, a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Austrian National Tourist Board and representatives of further Federal Ministries.
