The Austrian startup scene is up-and-coming and Vienna is fast developing into a European startup hub, according to TechCrunch, one of the most important international tech media outlets. The Austrian Startup Monitor 2019 has established that the scene is not only showing a growth rate of some 40%, it also makes 90% of its turnover abroad.

A total of 100 selected startups have now been showcased in print form on an international stage. The book provides insights into the inventive spirit, talents and attractions of the startup scene in Austria.

Each firm recounts the story of its success across the book’s 240 pages, providing details of their founding and growth strategy and reporting on investment, financing, lessons learned and their response to the COVID19 pandemic.

The startups presented are active in 10 sectors, from consumer goods through artificial intelligence, robotics and the internet of things to healthtech, fintech, edutech, mobility and energy.

The book has been published with support from Austria’s Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, amongst others.

The book can be ordered from the publications outlet of the Home Town Media publishing house.
