IBM recently announced the acquisition of Txture GmbH, a company whose software assets help businesses migrate, modernize, and optimize their hybrid cloud estates. Txture is a spin-off of the University of Innsbruck Department of Computer Science.
Enhancing cloud transformation capabilities
Txture brings powerful assets that complement IBM Consulting’s Application Migration & Modernization (AM&M) and Cloud Technology Strategy offerings. By integrating Txture into the IBM Consulting Advantage platform, the company can extend their leadership in hybrid cloud transformation and enabling clients to realize value more rapidly.
By adding Txture’s capabilities to IBM’s existing offerings, IBM consulting teams will be able to save clients time and deliver value faster in a secure, hybrid cloud environment.
Delivering proven experience and innovation
Founded in 2017, Txture is headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria. Txture is a spin-off of the Institute of Computer Science of the University of Innsbruck, where intensive practice-oriented research in planning and transformation of global IT landscapes has been conducted since 2009. Being close to the University gave Txture access to top talent and research, helping them create software that guides clients through cloud transformation.
It has enabled more than 100 cloud transformation projects worldwide and processed over 50,000 applications through client engagements, helping global system integrators and enterprise clients accelerate transformation and improve quality outcomes.
This is more than an acquisition—it’s a strategic step forward in IBM’s asset-led consulting strategy. Txture’s automation and recommendation capabilities reduce manual effort, enhance output quality, and enable our consultants to deliver faster, data-backed results. This acquisition will empower clients to make better decisions, accelerate time-to-value, and modernize with confidence.
