Together, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, OPEN AUSTRIA, and Pioneers of Game Development Austria (PGDA) showcased the creativity and global potential of the Austrian gaming industry on one of the world’s most important stages.
The Austrian Play Arcade: Spielschön served as a vibrant hub for the community, representing eleven Austrian game developers and game music creators. A major highlight: Mi'pu'mi Games and Flat Head Studio each received one of only eight prestigious “GDC 2026 Best in Play” Awards (more here), an impressive signal of Austria’s innovation and quality.
With the Austrian Sound Station Hörschön, a new format was introduced to showcase the work of Austrian game music creators. A networking event brought together over 70 participants, and PGDA presented “Inside Austria’s Indie Game Revolution” to an international audience.
