2024 Energy Globe Award Winner: Sika USA

listen

We were thrilled to welcome Daniel Munt and Molly O'Hara from Sika to our New York office yesterday to present them with the 2024 Energy Globe Award for their groundbreaking sustainability project at the Chattanooga, Tennessee Fibermesh plant.

Faced with rising demand from the tunneling, mining, and warehousing industries across the Americas, the SIKA team invested $2.9M in a state-of-the-art production upgrade to reduce reliance on fiber imports from Germany and Australia. The results speak for themselves:

- 30% less energy use
- 10% reduction in water consumption
- 21% waste reduction
- 20% lower CO₂ emissions per ton of fiber

Even better? The project achieved a 28% increase in output, maintained an injury-free safety record, and set new global standards that are now being replicated in Germany, Australia, and Peru.

As proud partners of the Energy Globe Award, we presented the SIKA team with their well-earned award, along with a basket of Austrian treats.

Congratulations for leading the way in sustainable manufacturing!
