ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA New York, in collaboration with OPEN AUSTRIA East Coast, had the privilege of accompanying a fully booked Austrian delegation on the “AI @ MIT Executive Learning Journey” to Boston and Cambridge. The goal of the program was to gain an in-depth understanding of how artificial intelligence is currently being applied in concrete and practical ways within real-world business and organizational processes.
The program included participation in the MIT AI Conference and the MIT Enterprise AI Forum, and also offered numerous opportunities for direct exchange with MIT professors and leading experts. Interactive sessions focused in particular on topics such as AI strategy, corporate transformation through AI, and the human and organizational aspects of AI adoption.
The diverse composition of the Austrian delegation, featuring companies from various industries, facilitated an intensive cross-industry exchange as well as valuable practical insights that can be directly integrated into participants’ own work.
Boston and Cambridge once again confirmed their role as one of the world’s leading ecosystems for artificial intelligence and innovation. The region provided the ideal setting to connect Austrian expertise with the dynamics, perspectives, and market conditions of the U.S. Additionally, the long-standing cooperation with MIT was further strengthened and expanded.
A particular highlight of AI @ MIT Week was the networking reception in Boston, which was hosted by Bernstein Private Wealth Management in collaboration with the University of Vienna Alumni Club and the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation.
The evening brought the Austrian delegation together with representatives from Boston’s business, innovation, and academic communities, creating an inspiring platform for personal exchange and new collaborations. We were particularly honored by the participation of Victoria Reggie-Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to Austria, and Sebastian Schütze, Rector of the University of Vienna.
A moderated discussion with Ambassador Reggie-Kennedy, led by Hannelore Veit, offered valuable insights into transatlantic cooperation, international leadership, and the importance of dialogue and trust in times of global technological transformation.
The event provided an ideal opportunity to deepen existing networks, forge new connections, and successfully conclude the Cambridge program in an outstanding setting.
