Internship at our Washington, D.C. office
ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Washington, D.C. is offering an internship opportunity for a motivated young professional interested in international business, trade promotion, and transatlantic economic relations.
This internship provides hands-on experience supporting Austrian companies in the U.S. market, with a particular focus on the defense, security, and aerospace sectors. It offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of international trade, policy, and industry while contributing to research, event organization, communications, and day-to-day office operations.
Key responsibilities
- Support Austrian companies in business development activities within the defense, security, and aerospace sectors
- Provide advisory services on U.S. trade policy, including import tariffs, customs regulations, export controls, and sanctions
- Plan and execute events, including trade missions such as the AUSA Annual Meeting (Washington, DC), including B2B meetings and networking receptions
- Build and maintain a strong professional network across relevant government and industry stakeholders
- Serve as a key point of contact for Austrian businesses entering or expanding in the U.S. market
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (business, international relations, or related field preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with event planning and management
- Excellent English and German communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with government agencies, companies, and industry associations
