A great start to National Apprenticeship Week in Washington! D.C. Around 30 representatives of Austrian companies in the United States followed the invitation of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA WASHINGTON to a knowledge exchange in the nation’s capital. The workshop was the start to a series of events organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Austria and Embassy of Switzerland in the Washington DC during National Apprenticeship week.
The interactive workshop gathered company representatives and educational experts. It was followed by a panel discussion and networking event hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland as well as a Briefing on “Women in Apprenticeship” at the U.S. senate with a keynote address by Senator John Hickenlooper.
The events build on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Austria and the U.S. signed on April 13, 2022 that aims to expand registered apprenticeships among Austrian companies and Austrian-invested companies in the US in order to promote job creation in both countries.
The events were financially supported by ReFocus Austria and go-international.
